Non CCDers have known the disastrous effects of flying for ages. We have the vapour-trails, the nasty exhaust fumes, the ugliest mass consume places on earth, i.e. airports, the noise and of course the aesthetic thing of having these ugly machines spoiling our view when we look up. The latter is of course subjective.
Well, there we are. Now we all cannot avoid recognising another disadvantage of the hubris of flight for humans. Wow, these thousands of flights per whatever help an epidemic to spread around the world in weeks.
If only the wisdom of people had developed parallel to the invention of things.
I finish with a little mind game: what does an airplane-park look like after 20 years? We all know what nature does with old factories. Beautiful imho. How pleasing to the eye can abandoned airports be, after having been taken over by nature?

Google translate: On the last day of March, we hear that the opening of Lelystad Airport is being postponed again. This time this is not because persistent sensible people point out the disastrous consequences of this project for the surrounding nature and the environment in general, but because of something even the latest climate change denier (CCD for short) can see on its screen: airports all over the world have now turned into gigantic plane-parks !!!!
I found the idea to enlarge the airport there immediately hilarious if it was not so sad: how do you imagine planning such a thing near the Oostvaardersplassen, an area built to attract geese and other birds. I understand it’s a bit annoying when a bird gets into your aeroplane engine. And not just for the bird. Kind of limits to growth for our mini country.

Incidentally, I believe that the geese can rest easy; Lelystad airport will not be built.
